ISLAMABAD: In light of Met Office forecast of above normal rainfall in in last a week of June, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday sent ministers and concerned departments to take precautions avoid also notify the regional and district administrations about any unfavorable situations.
Formerly Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), in The statement predicted that “above average rainfall” is expected in the country for the coming rainy season. It also states that pre-monsoon rains are likely to start in in last a week of June.
‘Comprehensive strategy’
Prime Minister Shehbaz ordered the development of a comprehensive strategy in cooperation with provinces, given the forecast of heavy monsoon rains.
He ordered that all precautions should be accepted in conformity with forecast of meteorological department, in addition to providing events in lowlands and in those regions that may be affected during the rainy season.

‘Inhabitants in affected areas should be warned’
prime minister further noted that the inhabitants in affected areas should be warned and moved to safer areas.
