Prime Video’s adaptation of the popular Off-Campus series has cleared a major production milestone. Principal photography for Season 2 officially wrapped in Vancouver on September 18, 2026, shifting the project into post-production as fans await the next chapter of the collegiate romance saga.
The upcoming season, which will consist of eight episodes, is expected to premiere in the first half of 2027. While an exact date has not been finalized, industry projections suggest a release window around May 2027. This timeline follows the show’s established pattern of rapid production following its Prime Video debut.
Adapting ‘The Score’ and Skipping Book 2
In a significant departure from the chronological order of Elle Kennedy’s novel series, the show’s creators have opted to skip the second book, The Mistake. Instead, Season 2 will adapt the third installment, titled The Score. This creative decision was made to prioritize the chemistry and relationship between Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes, which was established during the first season.
The new episodes will focus heavily on the romance between Dean and Allie, played by Stephen Kalyn and Mika Abdalla, respectively. This shifting-lead format mirrors other successful romance adaptations, allowing the series to explore different couples within the same friend group while maintaining an ensemble cast.
Cast Returns and New Additions
Despite early social media rumors suggesting his departure, Belmont Cameli is confirmed to return for Season 2. Speculation regarding his health after fans rediscovered a 2018 kidney donation proved to be unrelated to his current status; Cameli remains an integral part of the ensemble alongside Ella Bright. However, the cast will see one notable departure: Josh Heuston will not return as Justin Kohl due to scheduling conflicts with the Dune franchise.
Several new faces are joining the Briar University circle to fill out the expanding narrative:
- India Fowler: Cast as Grace Ivers, who serves as the love interest for John Logan.
- Shay Rudolph: Joining as Summer Di Laurentis, the sister of central character Dean.
By jumping straight to the events of The Score, the production team aims to capitalize on the momentum of the Dean and Allie storyline. While fans of the second book may be surprised by the skip, the inclusion of characters like Grace Ivers suggests that elements from other books in the series may still be woven into the seasonal arc.
