Sindh to plant palm trees over 1000 acres in Thatta

KARACHI: Sindh Coastal Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday decided on plantation of palm trees over 1000 acres of land in Tatsky region.

Meeting of Coastal Development Authority chaired by the provincial minister Ismail Rahu decided to launch palm tree plantation project that have an estimate cost of 356 million rupees.

“About 60,000 trees will be planted. on land under the projectIsmail Rahu said. “Palm trees will be planted in current year and one tree in average will give exit of one Mound oil”, minister said.

He was informed in meeting hosted by the Department of Forestry over 2000 acres of Coastal Development Administration land for in project.

It is appropriate to mention here that the cabinet of Sindh last year approved plantation of palm trees on 3000 acres of land.

Sindh Coastal Development Authority requested for distribution of 3,000 acres of woodland for palm tree planting.

CDA has previously initiated a pilot project of in palm tree plantation on 30 acres of land.
