UUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky predicts an escalation of attacks from Russia. on his country this week.
This happens when Moscow presses on campaign to win control of east of Ukraine.
“Of course, this week we should expect Russia to strengthen of their hostile activities,” Zelensky said. in his nightly video message.
“We are preparing. We are ready”.
Zelensky said he visited the troops in southern Nikolaev region about 550 km (340 mi) to the south of Kyiv.
“Their mood is confident: they all have no doubts about our victory,” he said. in video on Sunday that seemed to be written down on a moving train.
“We will not give south to anyone and all that’s ours we’ll take back.”
In Mykolaiv and Odesa regions, Zelensky said he heard reports of destruction from Russian strikes: “Losses are significant. Many houses have been destroyed. destroyed; civilian logistics was disrupted.”
