Government clear outstanding contributions of newspapers: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday announced what government will clear their outstanding advertising fees of newspapers on priority to alleviate serious cash crunch faced by industry.

He also instructed that all contributions should reconcile by June 30th. He further said that he government didn’t believe in political victimization and therefore will clear advertising fees of previous government.

He expressed those views while talking to the delegation of All Pakistan Newspaper Society led by its President Sarmad Ali and General Secretary Naz Afrin Saigol Lahani.

prime minister assured that government advertising rates of newspapers will adjusted in line with inflation. He also did not new taxes and duties will be introduced on newspaper industry in coming budget and what government will consider taking additional measures to assist help Newspaper industry crisis to deal with up with extreme inflationary pressure.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marryum Aurangzeb and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Fahd Hussain also gift. The APNS delegation included of senior Members: Mujibur Rahman Shami, Jamil Ater, Shahab Zuberi, Ramiza Nizami, Umar Shami, Imtinan Shahid, Mumtaz Tahir, Mohsin Bilal, Avais Khushnood, Wasim Ahmed, Munir Gillani and Humayon Gulzar.
