KARACHI: In an attempt to save energy in Sindh government on Friday announced closing of all markets, including shopping centers, by 9 pm across the province, ARY News reports.
The notice was also issued by the Ministry of the Interior in this connection.
According to the notice, markets will close at 21:00, wedding halls at 22:30, and restaurants at 23:00.
“All markets, shopping centers and shops must be closed by 21:00,” the notice says. Milk shops, bakeries and transportation vehicles for dairy products were exempted from temporary restrictions.

All wedding halls, banquets, ceremonies must be closed until 22:30, the notice says.
The order comes in force with instant effect and will remain in force for Period of one month, it added.


Traders refuse the state order
All Pakistan Trade Union Association rejected decision of provincial government regarding closing of businesses at 9 pm.
Speaking to ARY News, President Anjuman Tajran Javed Qureshi said that they already facing crisis economic situation due to the decrease in the load and the growth of inflation and decision will crush them a lot.
President of All Marage Halls Association, Raees Ahmed also rejected the government’s decision for closing of marriage halls by 10:30 pm.
decision from the provincial government comes after the meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) on June 7 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The meeting was attended by the chief ministers of Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was represented by its head secretary Dr. Shehzad Khan.
During the meeting, the heads of the provinces were informed of suggestions and decisions made during the meeting on June 7, 2022 of federal cabinet to decide with energy crisis in country.
Chief Ministers also supported decisions of federal cabinet on nationwide countermeasures with energy crisis and assured them full cooperation in overcoming the energy crisis.
