Three travelers attacked by a man with edged weapons at San Francisco International Airport on Friday evening, authorities said.
San Francisco police said a man was driving. vehicle to the airport, entered the international terminal, “walked around the departure terminal and pulled out edged weapons” before attacking three men around 6 p.m., the San Francisco police said.
The travelers were in advance security area of International terminal when they were attacked, the airport said duty manager Russell McKee.
Airport spokesman Doug Jaeckel said the suspect “tried to cause injury several passing travelers. Police said officers arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect “without further incident.”
The three injured were treated on the spot and released. with According to police, the injuries are incompatible with life.
“They were treated for minor scratches and released,” McKee said, adding that they continued their travels.
The suspect has been taken into custody. Man’s name, age and city of Police said his residence as well as his “pending charges” were not disclosed amid an ongoing investigation.
McKee said information about type of the weapon that was used was immediately unavailable.
According to McKee, it is not yet clear if the suspect was a traveller. The motive was unknownMcKee said.
Yakel said that attack did not affect the operation of the airport.
