Miftah Ismail spent Rs 4.8 million to renovate government residence: sources

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Miftah Ismail allegedly spent a hefty sum amount of funds, 4.8 million rupees from national treasury to repair it government residences, citing sources, ARY News reports. on Thursday.

Minister of Finance Miftah Ismail, who belongs to the ruling elite of Pakistan Muslim Nawaz League (PML-N), advising citizens to practice asceticism and simplicity, spent Rs 4.8 million of funds national coffers for in renovation of his government residence.

Sources told ARY News that Ismail recently defected to the Ministerial Enclave from his private residence, spending 4.8 million rupees on renovation. Finance minister house number 22 was allocated of Enclave of Ministers.

Earlier it was reported that Ismail stimulated his own production in federal budget for FY2022-23 which was referred to out PTI leader Hammad Azhar.

Hammad Azhar said in a tweet that funds minister Miftah Ismail announced increase in sales tax on fertilizer from 2% to 10% and hike of from 5% to 10% was made on natural gas, but there was a decrease of responsibilities on import of flavoring powders for food preparation for snack producers.
