Today’s game update revealed that New World, an Amazon MMORPG, will switch to a season-based operating paradigm starting on March 28. Players will start receiving “more frequent content” for New World at the end of the following month, and each new season will (of course) bring brand-new season passes.

One of the passes, which Amazon has branded “reward tracks,” is free, while the other is a premium pass that costs money. There is a lot to gain from the season passes, with 100 tiers of gear, emotes, and cosmetics to unlock, but this is merely the most recent game to use this system; it is nothing new.
New World’s inaugural season title is “Fellowship and Fire.” It adds a new expedition, skill, way to store gear sets, reorganized quests, and mid-season events to the game.
In a sentence, the following explains why Amazon chose to switch to a seasonal business model with New World:
We intend to update New World regularly every three months. We’ll add new experiences and material for all gamers to enjoy with the seasons.
The premium season pass will cost 20,000 “Marks of Fortune” from the in-game seasonal store for those seeking a more rewarding experience. To make it easier for users to level up more quickly overall, Amazon has included boost tokens. It may appear tedious to progress through 100 ranks of a season pass.
Amazon will roll out three exclusive time events as the season progresses. “Rabbit’s Vengeance” comes first, followed by “Springtime Bloom” and, finally, “Fury of the Spriggan.” These events are anticipated to be spaced out to debut once per month, deliberately filling out the season.
Last, Amazon stated that each new season would provide distinct challenges and an “activity stamp card,” allowing gamers to accumulate milestones based on pre-determined actions.
Are you still playing New World, or do you not care about this update?
