Owing to the Game’s ‘Impact’ on Rovio’s Wider Games Portfolio, Angry Birds Classic on iOS has Been Renamed

Due to the “impact” that the “Classics” name and title were having on Rovio’s wider games portfolio, the company announced this week that it would be renaming Rovio Classics: Angry Birds to “Red’s First Flight” on the iPhone and the iPad. This decision was made because Rovio Classics was having on its wider games portfolio.

Angry Birds Classics: Angry Birds is a paid software with no in-app purchases, in contrast to Angry Birds Friends, Angry Birds Journey, and Angry Birds 2, three more Rovio games that promote microtransactions. Rovio does not indicate how the game affects its other products. Other apps that generate more revenue could be developed instead of the Classic game.

Instead of the premium $0.99 Classical option, anyone searching for Angry Birds in the App Store can download one of the more recent games with in-app purchases.

The Angry Birds Classics game will be renamed and removed from the Google Play Store on Thursday. After the app has been delisted/renamed, users who have already paid for and downloaded Rovio Classics: Angry Birds can still use it.

For the Rovio Classics: Angry Birds crew and the fans, this is “sad news,” according to Rovio. Nonetheless, the business still hopes users will switch to its other games.

Since its release in 2009, Angry Birds has been one of the most well-known mobile games. The series has produced numerous books, two films, comic books, theme park attractions, and merchandise. Rovio spent years rebuilding Angry Birds with a new game engine. It was only just released as part of Rovio Classics: Angry Birds.
