Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar prepared a summary to dissolve the Punjab Assembly, according to Geo News on On Saturday.
According to the report, the CM House has developed the summary on Buzdar’s advice and he might sign the document if PM Imran Khan accepts the suggestion. The report added that Buzdar is ready to resign if the PM asks him.
The development arrives as PM battles to save his place against the motion of no confidence presented by the opposition in the National Assembly.
The opposition had submitted the motion against PM Imran on 8th of March. The premier has since been under pressure as many lawmakers within the PTI have shown they would back the opposition during the vote on the motion.
The opposition had shown its inclination to move against CM Buzdar after removing PM Imran via the motion of no confidence.
Also, PML-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi had shared in an interview that the opposition offered him the boss minister’S post in Return for his party’S support in the motion of no confidence against PM Imran Khan.
Two disgruntled groups of PTI have also asked for removal of CM Buzdar.
Pursuant to Article 112 (1) of the Constitution, the governor has the power to dissolve a provincial assembly on advice of the boss minister.
“The governor will dissolve the provincial assembly, if so advised by the chief minister; and the provincial assembly, if not dissolved first, will be dissolved upon expiry of Fourty eight hours after the boss minister so advised “, reads the article.
