Square Enix is working on a new game in the Mana franchise. Masaru Oyamada, producer of the franchise, reveals this during a livestream.
“We wanted to announce it with a cool trailer, but we are only at the beginning of the thirtieth anniversary”, says Oyamada during a Japanese livestream for the series’ thirtieth anniversary.“We are in the process of developing a new title, but please wait for the full announcement. Although, we left it on a while ago Mana creator Koichi Ishii. So we’re in that development phase, so look forward to it. Development still has a while to go. We’re making the game for console, by the way.”
It was also announced that an anime of the franchise is in development at Warner Bros. Japan and a mobile game called Echoes of Mana for mobile comes out. Check out the first screenshots of the free-to-play action RPG below.
