Both YouTuber Coreteks and Moore’s Law is Dead shared roughly the same information about AMD’s Radeon RX 6600 XT in a short span of time. Both parties expect that the next budget card in the RDNA2 range will appear in August, with a preliminary suggested retail price of $399.
Moore’s Law is Dead calls the tasty ‘Kepler ‘ by name, where Coreteks keeps his resources to himself. The same YouTuber recently predicted tons of information about the release of AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution. Almost everything turned out to be truthful afterwards.August is not an absurd assumption for the Radeon RX 6600 XT. Chip manufacturer AMD had previously promised a new budget card for the first half of 2021, but that promise died a quiet death. Even now AMD keeps its lips tight about new GPUs, while numerous leaks predict an imminent unveiling.
Both tech YouTubers aren’t sure yet about the $399 suggested retail price; this could still change. The price mentioned now is only $80 cheaper than the Radeon RX 6700 XT, which is currently the lowest entry point for AMD’s discrete graphics cards. Coreteks’ other information also contradicts previous rumors. According to the YouTuber, the Infinity Cache of this Navi 23 chipset is only 32MB in size, compared to the previously expected 64MB. In addition, the GPU would only be delivered as an AIB model and therefore not available through AMD’s own web stores. The latter also speaks of a recent leak about a render of the Radeon RX 6600 XT against, as that model is an AMD proprietary design. It is possible that the render is fake, is it just a promotional image or that Coreteks’ claims about availability are simply not correct.
