KARACHI: Professor Nasira Khatoon has assumed the post of interim vice chancellor of the University of Karachi. She is there first female professor appointed to post of Deputy Chancellor KU.
The Secretariat of the University Department and Government Councils of Sindh Muhammad Mureed Rahimoon, although a notification dated February 28, 2022 notified Professor Nasira Khatoon, the faculty of KU Dean of Science as an interim KU VC as an interim agreement until further orders.
He did his doctorate in 1994 in Parasitology from the KU department of zoology, while its field of the specialization is Parasitology and Clinical and veterinary pathology, Fish pathology.
Prof. Nasira Khatton has completed her Masters in 1986 with the first division from the department of zoology and BSc in 1983 with the first division from APWA College for Women. She had been president of the department of zoology from 25-10-2019 to 03-11-2020.
The professor Nasira Khatoon was named as the professor to the department of zoology on 11-11-2005.
To date, seven students have completed their PhDs under his supervision while three students have completed MPhil under his supervision. Also, be the principal of the faculty of sciencelei was also the interim principal of the faculty of engineering.
