Prime Minister Shehbaz said that his governments move necessary to increase fuel prices avoid Pakistan from facing bankruptcy.
“Previous government intentionally hides the facts. I want to remind them that you made a deal with IMF, not us. You accepted their harsh terms us. You plunged the country into economic turmoil, not us.”
He called the PTI governments decision provide a fuel subsidy “trap” for forthcoming government.
“Oil prices are rising all over the world, but they [PTI government] subsidized fuel, knowing that the treasury would not be able to bear its burden.”
Prime Minister Shehbaz recalled that he proposed a “charter of economy”almost four years ago, but” my offer was rejected with contempt”.
He said the charter was an imperative, so no government could use in economy for for the sake of of politics, adding that he will reach out to all political parties for dialogue on cause.

He said that the previous government tenure also proved costly for Pakistan on diplomatic front.

He also recalled that the current government canceled all measures taken by ex-government that limited freedom of speech, including rejection of a proposal for the controversial Pakistan Media Development Authority.

Talking about economic failures of PTI governmentPrime Minister Shehbaz said Pakistan is saddled with 20,000 billion rupees debt taken by previous rulers, while current fiscal years budget the deficit was 5,600 billion rupees.
