PPP urges Jamaat to put aside differences for ‘betterment of Karachi’

KARACHI: Minister of Sindh for Education Said Ghani on Wednesday said Jamaat-e-Islami on Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Priority for negotiation over creating an alliance to appoint the mayor of Karachi.

According to results came out in toto by the electoral commission of Pakistan (ECP) more than 48 hours after vote PPP is in in lead with success in 91 union councils out of 235 while JI stands second with victories in 88 UC and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) finished third after winning in 40 of the Criminal Code.

In the process of being finalized of results, minister hinted at him party can form an alliance with JI but rules out every opportunity join strength with in party of former prime minister Imran Khan.

Ghani said information granted to the President of Karachi of religious party, Naeem ur-Rehman, incorrect. He added that even the winning PPP candidates demanded a recount, claiming that their votes were less.

Criticism runner-up party, minister JI was alleged to have detained a returning officer in The Western District is hostage.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah assured Rehman of addressing all his “justified” fears, since party retains Sindh rule party on target for results of local government polls in Karachi.

The Shah asked Rehman to address the commission about their concerns and promised play neutral role in permission of JI problems.
