Peshawar Supreme Court sworn in in first- ever female boss justice

PESHAWAR: Judge Musarrat Hilali sworn in in historic appointment in How first chief woman justice of Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Saturday.

The ceremony was held at the Governor’s House in Peshawar, saw Judge Hilali take the oath of office, which she will hold until regular main justice appointed by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP).

Her brilliant career also includes first woman extra advocate general of KP, a position she held from November 2001 to March 2004. Hilali was also appointed first woman chair of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Environment Tribunal.

If Judge Hilali is appointed regular chief justice she will only become second service woman in this ability in any of high courts. Judge Syed Tahira Safdar was appointed Chief justice of Balochistan High Court (BHC) in 2018.
