IRS Investigator Claims Justice Department Officials Slowed Down and Removed Evidence of Alleged Tax Offenses Against Hunter Biden, According to Latest Poll

IRS Investigator Claims Justice Department Slowed Down Hunter Biden Investigation

After half of Americans confirmed that U.S. President Joe Biden’s son was receiving special treatment, according to the latest public opinion poll, the IRS investigator who oversaw the Hunter Biden investigation said Justice Department officials slowed down, halted the investigation and removed the most serious evidence of the alleged tax offenses against him.

Details of the Alleged Special Treatment

Gary Shapley provided a detailed account in a transcript he released Thursday, confirming a special treatment for the president, potentially devastating to prosecutors that showed no interest in investigating Hunter Biden’s financial misconduct, the Washington Post reported.

Attorney General’s Testimony and Democrat’s Response

He also directly touched on Attorney General Merrick Garland’s testimony before Congress, in which he said that Delaware Attorney General David Weiss, an affiliate of the Trump administration, has full authority to investigate Hunter Biden and can do whatever he wants in this case.

A Justice Department spokesman echoed Garland’s earlier comments, and the top Democrat on the House committee said the allegations should not have been made public while lawmakers are still scrutinizing them.

Weiss’s Role in the Investigation

In addition, he said that Weiss had told investigators that he was “not responsible for making arraignment decisions” and added that Weiss then surprised the agents by saying that “Biden-appointed United States Attorney General Matthew Graves would not allow him to file allegations in your area.

Weiss also claimed that Weiss told the group, which included prosecutors, FBI agents, and IRS agents, “that he knew for months that Graves’ office refused to press charges against Biden there.” asked the Justice Department to hire him as a special counsel, which gives him more autonomy in the investigation, “and he was stripped of that power.”

He was prevented from taking routine investigative steps.

The Transcript Criticized by the Justice Department

The transcript will almost certainly draw criticism from the Justice Department’s five-year investigation into Hunter Biden, which this week resulted in a two-count plea agreement that will likely keep him out of jail.

A week after Shapley’s May 26 speech before a House committee, the committee heard from an IRS investigator working under Shapley.

Hunter Biden’s Guilty Plea

Biden is due to appear in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware, on July 26 for a guilty plea that must be approved by a judge.

Notably, prosecutors said on Tuesday that Hunter Biden had pleaded guilty to two federal charges. His lawyer confirmed in a statement that this confession “puts an end” to the lawsuits against Hunter Biden. “Hunter is keen to acknowledge the mistakes he made in dealing with pain and addiction,” he added.

According to Attorney General David Weiss, Hunter pleaded guilty to one part of the federal income tax fraud case.

According to the text of the agreement with the US Attorney’s Office, he must recognize the presence of firearms in his home state of Delaware.

Additionally, in 2018, Hunter was charged with possession of a firearm while addicted to drugs.
