“Technical fault/cutout in optical fiber PTCL network Due to unprecedented floods that affected internet services at midnight in some locations, it has been renovated and restored within one hour,” he tweeted.
“All internet services are working fine.”
Sources in the company previously reported Dawn fiber optic internet cables damaged due to heavy rains in Sukkur regions. They said that rain water got into the PTCL exchanger, causing a short circuit in the power grid.

The shutdown occurred a day after the launch of the YouTube service in parts of country faced violations on Sunday during performance of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, whose live addresses have been banned on TV channels on the eve of the evening electronic media regulator.

Internet outage reported last week in some regions, including large urban centers, which PTCL attributed to a technical malfunction in fiber optic cable. The problem was later corrected and Internet services restored.

According to the PTA, there are 116 million users. of 3G and 4G services and 119 million broadband networks subscribers.
