EMERGENCY SERVICES AND RNLI teams were called to the river after two young people were in a quandary on sandbar.
The West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (WSFR) visited the site of the incident on the River Adour near the Shoreham Toll Bridge around 3:40 p.m. safety concern.
A passer-by told The Argus that around 20 personnel was present, including teams from Shoreham RNLI, East Sussex Fire and Rescue, Water Rescue Specialist and Secamb.
Two teenagers were taken to safety according to RNLI.

representative for The WSFR reported: “At 15:36 the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service received call with concern for in safety of two people who we in water near Shoreham Toll Bridge.
Crews from Worthing and Littlehampton were present with with colleagues from the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service to help the RNLI who were able to deliver two people to safety”.
