The creator of Escape from Tarkov, Battlestate Games, has commented on the persistent problem of cheaters in the game.

Fans have long voiced concerns about the prevalence of Escape from Tarkov cheats. Some players have even installed cheats to highlight the issue controvertibly.
Battlestate recently posted a response to the problem in the Escape from Tarkov Reddit thread.
The post’s opening states, “Unfortunately, a problem with cheaters pops up every time for a long time, one way or another.” “And right away, people start accusing us of being careless. They start to disparage the game and us and say other things that are hurtful to us.
The post details the efforts Battlestate is making to combat cheating, noting that they “ban many thousand cheaters a day” and that Tarkov’s built-in anti-cheat system, Battleye, “had been updated four times” in the past week.
Battlestate states it will “start developing new hacker detection techniques to automate it and enhance the general effectiveness and efficiency of cheater detection and banning.” You’ll be informed via an update to the reporting system when someone you reported is banned.
The blog post ends with, “Your concerns and outrage are 100% evident to us. “And have been for always. Report all of these idiots, and let’s work together to make the game cleaner.

The statement has yet to be warmly received if the comments on Reddit are any indication. One comment that received a lot of upvotes expresses doubt about the integrity of Battlestate’s promises and queries the absence of two-factor verification.
The poster writes, “It stinks to see one of my all-time favorite games, and a potential game to go down in video gaming history, just break apart like this due to lack of care.”
