LAHORE: Punjab Chief Secretary Abdullah Khan Sumbal on Wednesday instructed the authorities complete security and other activities for digital census in provinces.
He issued this directive at the meeting. of Regional Coordinating Committee for The digital census is carried out at the Civic Secretariat. Provincial Census Commissioner, Commissioner of the Lahore Division and senior police officers and military officials attended the meeting, and the Pakistani bureau of Member of Statistics (PBS) (help desk) Sarwar Gondal, all commissioners and deputy commissioners of the department participated via video link.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that the census is an important national responsibility and future political and economic scenario of the country will largely depend on data obtained during the census. He said what the officers and staff should do work of census as national duty. He also instructed regional departments to intensify cooperation with PBS for complete census successfully.
The Chief Secretary ordered the Deputy Commissioners to provide the necessary facilities immediately. for training of field staff for census in areas. He said that by appointing a census duty employees of department of education, educational activities should not be affected in Any way.
Mr. Sarwar Gondal informed the meeting about work plan of digital census. He said that digital the census was successfully completed in 33 districts of country as a pilot project. He mentioned that total of 61,000 field staff will perform duties during the census in province of Punjab. He said that the training process of 328 master trainers was completed while training of field personnel start from January 7th. He added trained staff of PBS has been deployed with Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners for Giving help.
