Ophthalmologist Dmitry Maychuk revealed the causes of eye inflammation in the spring.
And the doctor points out on a TV show that in the spring the air temperature begins to rise day by day, which leads to the activation of viruses and bacteria, and the usually weak human immune system after the winter season, in addition to temperature fluctuations, and many people catch colds.
According to him, conjunctivitis can be caused by bacteria or viruses, and only a specialist doctor can accurately determine the cause.
He says: “If a person suffers from a cough or red eyes, he should first of all stay at home and try to solve the problem. I think he should see a specialist within 2-3 days, even if the problem is simple and the eye is slightly reddened.”
He adds that a second cause of conjunctivitis could be dry eyes.
He says: “If we go outside and the sun is shining, the dust starts to cause dry eye syndrome. And allergies too. When we return to the room, we turn on the air conditioner, which dries the air again and provokes the same dry eye syndrome.”
According to him, electronic devices also cause dry eye syndrome. Because when working with these devices, a person only blinks his eyes slightly, which leads to the drying of the tear film.
