Afghanistan receives strong warning from Iran

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi sent a sharply worded message to Afghanistan’s ruling body, warning against preventing the Iranian people from getting their water rights.

During his visit to the border city of Sistan and Balochistan with Afghanistan in southeastern Iran, Raisi warned: “The governing body in Afghanistan does not prevent the Iranian people from exercising their water rights,” emphasizing that “if our experts recognize the lack of water in the dam, we have no claims during a drought, but if proven otherwise, We will not allow the rights of the people to be neglected.”

The Iranian president stressed that “the rulers of Afghanistan should take his warning seriously, otherwise they will suffer the consequences.”

Raisi confirmed that the development of Sistan and Balochistan is one of the priorities of his government’s plans.

It is worth noting that in recent years, mass protests have been held in some cities of Iran against the backdrop of water shortages and drought.
