7 Secret iPhone Design Details That You Didn’t Know About – Revealed!

Hidden Surprises in Apple’s App Icons

iPhone users have recently discovered some surprises that Apple has hidden inside its app icons, especially since the tech giant is known for its intricate design choices that delighted customers after showing some clever illustrations and hidden features in plain sight.

Many of the icon’s “secret” features have appeared in the clock, navigation, flashlight, podcast, and calendar apps, according to the Daily Mail.

Hidden Features in App Icons

According to Gadget Hacks, there are 7 secret iPhone design details.

And not many people knew that the clock icon on their smartphone was actually a working analog clock designed to display your primary time zone.

The “seconds” hand on the watch is also constantly moving, simulating the passage of time.

Likewise, the Apple calendar icon is also the active calendar and displays the correct date on its front.

The app used to always indicate that July 17 was the day Apple introduced iCal for laptop and desktop models in 2002.

Apple Maps

The Apple Maps icon also has an interesting history with the original app depicting 1 Infinite Loop, the location of Apple’s longtime headquarters in San Jose.

But with the move to the new corporate headquarters commonly known as Apple Park in 2017, the Maps icon has been updated to depict part of a spaceship instead.

Flashlight

Fans have also discovered another hidden detail in the flashlight icon, where the flashlight switch switches to on or off depending on when the feature is used, and the illustration also turns blue when the light is on.

Podcasts

But while Apple may not have invented podcasts, the word is a clever combination of “iPod” and “podcasting” and the app was designed to reflect that.

And the Apple Podcasts app has a lowercase i with two halos around it. The “i” is a homage to the iPod and can also be interpreted as a microphone.

Voice Notes

In parallel, there is another smart graphic in the voice notes interface. It is assumed that the sound wave will be the same as if a person wrote down the word “apple” as an audio note.

Some speculators have even hypothesized that the specific waveform comes from what Steve Jobs said to “Apple” in honor of his memory.

TestFlight

Finally, Apple has the TestFlight app, which allows third-party app developers to beta test their technology.

Previously, the logo was a three-blade propeller, but in the new update it has turned into an illustration of a marine propulsion scheme.
