Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to arrive in Hiroshima, Japan on Saturday, where he will take part in the G-7 summit and, in particular, will have a bilateral meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron this weekend, diplomatic sources said.
And one of those sources said that Zelensky is expected to arrive in Hiroshima starting on Saturday, on the condition that he attends meetings on Sunday with the leaders of the G7 countries and countries invited to the summit.
For his part, a French diplomatic source said that Zelensky arrived in Hiroshima on a plane provided by France, after talking with Macron and “at the request of the Ukrainians.”
He considered it important for the Ukrainian president to go to the summit of the Big Seven of the largest industrialized countries.
Zelenskiy also plans to hold bilateral meetings in Hiroshima with his American counterpart Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
The President of Ukraine arrived as a guest of honor at the 32nd Arab Summit in Jeddah on Friday.
President Zelensky, in his speech at the opening of the summit, praised the mediation of Saudi Arabia in the release of prisoners.
Zelensky said that what is happening in his country is a war, not just a conflict, and that his country did not choose war and did not conduct any hostilities on the lands of other countries.
The President of Ukraine said ahead of the Arab summit that “Ukraine will never submit to Russia’s ambitions”, noting that everyone who defends their land from what he called the invaders is on the path of justice.
“I am here so that everyone can take an honest look, no matter how hard it is and no matter how the Russians try to influence” the situation in the world, Zelensky said.
