Material You has been a part of our team for Android’s previous iterations. Since its debut in Android 12, many have disapproved of the muted color palette. Even though pastels are beautiful, there are times when bold and bright colors look better. The good news is that Samsung has just released a new version of Theme Park, an app that enables users to design their own themes and icon packs; the update addresses a significant portion of the problems associated with this particular issue.

Testing the newly updated app is quick and simple and won’t take a few seconds. Therefore, once you have completed the process of updating the application via the Galaxy Store, proceed as follows:
- Open Theme Park.
- Tap the three dots in the top right corner to access the menu.
- Tap adjust color palette.
- Add the color picker until you get the color you want, then tap the OK button when you’re finished.
The new color has been applied to the operating system and all applications supporting the Material You theming once you have tapped OK.

Even if you turn the saturation slider up to the maximum, all of Samsung’s programs and third-party apps like Inware, the system UI, and widgets take on the exact hue you chose. This contrasts with some Google apps, which maintain a more pastel aesthetic.
I am delighted with the update because the darker shade of red that I selected looks fantastic on the red Galaxy S23 Ultra I have. Although this may be a relatively insignificant improvement in the grand scheme of things, it does put the “you” in Material You, which Google should have done from the beginning.
We can now breathe a sigh of relief because Google has listened to our calls for a brighter range of color palettes, which will be included in Android 14 when it is released. It is better than providing the user with a color picker, the gold standard for true customization. Still, it is an improvement over doing nothing.
The improved version of the Theme Park ought to be downloadable through the Galaxy Store. However, if you would rather sideload the app, the APK is available here.
