Xiaomi teases the arrival of gaming television with G-Sync

It seems that the Chinese hardware manufacturer Xiaomi will soon unveil its first gaming television, complete with G-Sync certificate from Nvidia. Xiaomi placed three teasers on social platform Weibo, which also reveal that it is an OLED panel.
Further specifications of the television are yet to be announced, but Xiaomi seems to be planning the unveiling for August 10, according to the footnote in the teaser images. The Chinese manufacturer had previously launched a select number of “gaming-friendly” picture tubes on the market, but this new model seems to be orienting more directly towards the sector.

For Xiaomi is especially the implementation of Nvidia’s G-Sync a first. Previous Mi TVs sparsely supported 120 hertz refresh rates and HDMI 2.1 connections, including built-in support for variable refresh rates (VRR). G-Sync’s promises somewhat overlap with those of hdmi 2.1, albeit that Nvidia offers an optimized hardware module to speed up response times and image synchronization. G-Sync Ultimate, which Xiaomi has not yet specifically named, also sets requirements for “lifelike” HDR image range and associated color reproduction.
