RAWALPINDI/QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Jawed Bajwa on Saturday visited flood-affected areas of Balochistan, where he inquired about welfare of people hit by devastating floods caused due to heavy rains, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in statement.

According to the military media wing, army commander visited flood relief camps and medical facilities have been set up in Got Saduri, Lahra and Lasbel. Army chief also met troops busy in relief operations and commended their efforts.

“Safety and wellbeing of our citizens come first and we won’t rest until each flood the victim is not only reached but also rehabilitated,” COAS said. “People of Pakistan is our priority and we won’t spare any effort to help them. in this is a difficult time, ISPR quotes COAS.

COAS also ordered army officials to use all available resources to assist civil administration in rescue, assistance and rehabilitation of people and infrastructure in in flood- affected areas. “We must reach out to our brothers and sisters in need without waiting for orders and help them to overcome this natural disaster,” ordered the commander of the army, General Bajwa.

The Pakistani Army has created flood relief camps in various locations in Karachi in support victims trapped after severe floods and heavy rains.

Army creates relief camps for flood victims

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said army camps had been set up to help flood victims. in various areas. Army prefabricated camps set up in Punjab included 10 points Lahore branch, namely Expocentre, Sadr Bazaar, Walton Road, Fort Stadium, DHA-2, Badshahi Mosque, Sheikhupura, Chunian and Kasur.

The Faisalabad division had two collections points set up in Faisalabad and one each in Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh and Jang. In the Sargokhdinsky district, two points we set up in Sargokhd and one each in Khushab, Bhakar and Mianwali. There were two camps in Jhelum. set up in Jhelum and one in Chakval.

Army formations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) also set up camps. In the Khazra division, one camp each was set up in Headquarters of Abottabad and the Old Station.

In Manser, a gathering camp was set up at the Thakra stadium, while in Haripur, a gathering camp was established in Haripu State College.

In Balochistan, army formations have set up 41 flood relief camps, including eight camps of the 33rd Division, eight camps of the 41st Division, three camps. in 44th Division, 19 camps of the Frontier Corps (FC) North Balochistan and three camps of FC South Balochistan.

The camps set up by the 33rd Division were in Kalat, Khuzdar City, Wadh, Surab, Khuzdar Kantt, Sibi, Dera Allah Yar/Jaffarabad and Kashmore Kantt.

The camps set up by the 41st Division were in Quetta Cantt, EME Center, Quetta, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Gulistan, Nushki, Chagai and Dalbandin.

Relief camps of 44 division was set up in City of Gawadar, Ormara and Acre.

FC Balochistan (North) camps included three points in Quetta (Nava Killi, Brewery and Dasht), Pishin, Mah, Mastung, Ziarat, Harnai, Sibi, Duki, Lli, Kohlu, two points in Barkhan (Barkhan City and Rachni), Sui, Sokhbatpur, three points in Zhob (Zhob City, Mani Khava and Danasar).
