Woman left with potentially life-changing injury after dog attack in Lancaster | UK news

The woman was left with potentially life-changing injuries after an attack dog in Lancaster.

Victim, cyclist in she is 40 years old, was admitted to the hospital with serious leg injuries after the animal was left locked up on her for minutes before she broke free.

Police were called around 4:20 p.m. on May 5 paramedics who treated her for her wounds.

She rode her bike with friend on Bike Lane behind Priory Church, near the Millennium Bridge, on May 5 and had to slow down to avoid woman and child, according to police.

Later a man approached them who had two brown Staffordshire Bull Terriers or Bullmastiff type dogs and accused them of of almost bumped into his child.

The police said he hit one of dogs on in the head, causing him to bite the victim on top leg and stay tied to it for minutes before she broke free.

Woman, who originally from Morecambe, was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and has since been discharged.

Police file an appeal for information because they seek to define dog walker.

He is described as white, 5’9-10″, slender, with brown short back and side hair.

The police think he in he was just over 30 wearing top.

PC Richard Hannaford, of Morecambe police said: “This incident left victim with very seriously injury.

“as part of of our current requests, we need identify and talk to a man who walked the dogs. I would call someone who knows who he – or the person himself – contact the police as soon as possible.

“Similarly, I would ask any witnesses or anyone with video surveillance, video recorder or mobile phone recording that could help our investigation get in touch.”
