The United States Embassy in Kabul urged American citizens to leave Afghanistan immediately using available travel options. Due to security conditions and low staffing, the embassy’s ability to assist US citizens in Afghanistan is severely limited even inside Kabul.
She also added that the embassy is willing to purchase tickets for those who cannot return to the United States.
The Embassy reminds US citizens that on April 27, the State Department ordered the departure of US government employees whose jobs could be performed elsewhere due to increased reports of violence and threats in Kabul.

She said that travel advisories for Afghanistan remain at level 4 where travel is prohibited due to crime, terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping and armed conflict.
(The US embassy announced last July 4 that it will continue its diplomatic work, confirming that there are no plans to close the embassy.
And she said in a statement, that the US embassy in Kabul will remain open, as directed by President Joe Biden.
This comes in conjunction with the complete withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan, while the Taliban continues to control more provinces and regions in the country, after the intensity of the fighting between them and government forces intensified.

The Taliban controls the capital of a second state
Today, Saturday, the hardline Taliban movement took control of the capital of a second state in Afghanistan, which is the city of Sheberghan located in Jawzjan, according to what the deputy governor of the state announced.
The Deputy Governor of Jawzjan Malia Qadir told the agency AFP: “(Government) forces and officials have retreated to the airport.”
The Taliban are fighting to reassert control 20 years after they were ousted by US-led forces, and the movement is stepping up its campaign to defeat the government.
The movement also claimed that it had taken control of dozens of areas and crossing points on the border in the past months while the foreign forces were withdrawing, while the government denied this information.
