Derry now understands two young people were subsequently taken to Altnagelvin Hospital by ambulance, the search continues. for third.
Speaking to Derry Now, Foyle MLA, Mark H Durkan (SDLP), who was present at the scene the entire time, said the emergency had been stopped down.
He added: “Although the result of this incident is not clear this is a terrible, terrible tragedy right now, and our thoughts and prayers with families of in young people involved and all affected by this tragedy.”
