Accident joins a series that was already under investigation
The collision happened after a Florida Highway Patrol agent ( FHP) having stopped his car on the highway to help the driver of a battered Mercedes SUV. When the policeman was already out of the patrol car, a Tesla Model 3 that was coming in the Autopilot collided with the FHP Dodge and the Mercedes.
The cause of the accident was under the scope of the authorities’ investigation, while the descriptions of what happened by FHP itself refer from the outset that the collision happened with Tesla in Autopilot, the agent having luckily escaped the Model 3 collision.
