Moscow, May 7 – Users Twitter A shaky carpet in the colors of the Ukrainian flag at the coronation of Charles III.
During the solemn event, many drew attention to the carpet in Westminster Abbey, which resembled the Ukrainian flag. So, “I saw Ukraine there and passed out for a minute,” the British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Symons wrote in her microblog. Twitter users’ opinion of her post was divided, but many noted the similarities.

The Telegraph later reported that British authorities described the coronation carpet’s resemblance to the Ukrainian flag as a “lucky coincidence”.
Britain’s King Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla, were crowned on Saturday. Buckingham Palace invited more than 2,000 guests, including representatives from 203 countries and territories, including about 100 heads of state. From Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky’s wife Elena and Prime Minister Denis Schmigal arrived at the ceremony.
