ISLAMABAD:
government and the United Nations (UN) will jointly launch the 2022 Pakistan Flood Response Plan (FRP). on Tuesday at the same time in Islamabad and Geneva.
“Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will deliver a keynote speech at the opening event Existence hosted ministry of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, followed by a video message from the Secretary General of UN Mr. António Guterres,” said an official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FO). in Press release.
Federal Minister for Planning, development and special initiatives Ahsan Iqbal also speak in event because he is the chairman of “Aid Coordination Committee” established by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
“FRP prepared in close coordination with National Disaster Management Administration (NDMA). NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz also inform session” added FO.

UN High Commissioner for Refugees, UN Resident Coordinator in Islamabad and Assistant Secretary General of International Federation of The Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) will also speak in event.
“Launch event all UN Member States will participate, as well as various UN agencies and humanitarian organizations working in in area of assistance in natural disasters. The FRP acknowledges the government’s overall humanitarian response to the recent floods. caused unprecedented rains in Pakistan, FO added.
Initially the authorities in Pakistan reacted slowly but latest reports from disadvantaged regions indicate damage caused on current floods much more than super floods of 2010.
