The UK bill is reassuring of convicted ex-premiers

ISLAMABAD: Walkthrough of Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act 2023 on Wednesday reassured of former PMs Nawaz Sharif and Yusuf Raza Gilani to appeal against their beliefs as they faced suo motu proceedings initiated by superior justice of Pakistan.

Several others who were convicted in suo motu affairs during tenure of former CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry and Mian Saqib Nisar also they are expected to win if the bill becomes law.

Sources said people who have been affected by suo motu proceedings while in office of former CJP Chaudhry and Nisar, respectively, will be able to challenge Supreme Court judgments against them within a month, subject to the transformation of the bill into law.
