Symptoms and Transmission of Malignant Fever
Dr. Ekaterina Serebrykova reported that the symptoms of malignant fever vary depending on its form.
Malignant Fever and its Transmission
In an interview with the Izvestiya newspaper, the doctor pointed out that malignant fever is fatal for animals and is often transmitted from an infected animal to a person through contact and communication. Livestock workers are most susceptible to this disease, especially those who have not been vaccinated against it.
Skin Form of the Disease
She says: “The infection is often transmitted by contact – through the skin. After that, distinctive signs appear on the skin, which makes it possible to diagnose the infection in a timely manner. That is, the skin form of the disease is one that is easily transmitted from one person to another. The cutaneous form manifests itself in non-cortical papules of Painful, then a black eschar appears in their place. This may be accompanied by swollen lymph nodes, nausea, vomiting, and fever.”
Respiratory and Digestive Tract Transmission
According to her, the infection is rarely transmitted through the respiratory and digestive tracts. But in this case, the course of the disease is severe and can even lead to death.
She says: “Bacilli (because they contain a toxic substance) can lead to ulcers, bleeding and perforations in the intestines when eating contaminated meat that has not been cooked in accordance with approved sanitary standards. Inhalation transmission of anthrax spores (inhalation form) is severe. If it occurs, it is accompanied by cough and fever, and infection of the digestive system is accompanied by nausea, vomiting and blood in the stool.”
