The Sindh government abruptly fired Karachi police chief Yaqoob Minhas duty

Sindh government on On Friday he abruptly fired Karachi Police Chief, Additional Inspector General Imran Yaqoob Minhas, from dutye replaced him with Ghulam Nabi Memo.

Notification added that Minhas, an officer of Police Service of Pakistan (BS-21), had been relocated and posted as an additional inspector general of police at the Sindh Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).

Also, Allah Bux alias Javed Akhtar Odho, an officer of Police Service of Pakistan (BS-21) was appointed additional inspector general of police, special branch, Sindh, in place of Memo.

It is pertinent to note that Memon’s appointment as Karachi Police Chief came as a surprise to many as he was transferred from the same office in May 2021 is given in load of Special branch, Sindh – a post which was previously held by Minhas.
