President Dr. Arif Alvi on Saturday brought back two bills aimed at repealing the controversial changes made in previous PTI election laws government taking into account use of electronic voting machines (EVM) and i-voting for overseas Pakistanis and cutting off huge forces of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), in prime minister for “revision and detailed consideration parliament and its committee(s).”
Both bills were passed by the National Assembly and the Senate. last month. After their approval by both chambers, only the consent of the president remained. required for them to become law.
Today, however, President Alvi returned the bills, saying they violated Article 46. of constitution, according to which prime minister “should inform the President on all questions of internal and external policy as well as on all legislative proposals of the federal government intends to appear before the Majlis-i-Shura (parliament)”.
The President was not informed of the legislative proposals before the bills were submitted for consideration. parliamentThis is stated in the message of the presidential secretariat.
