Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICT) on Tuesday filed another case against Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Dr. Shahbaz Gill for possession of illegal weapons, Aaj News reported.
The case was registered in Secretariat Police Station, Islamabad, after Shahbaz Gill failed issue a license for weapons seized during a police raid on his room in lodges of parliament in tiny hours of Monday.
Gill, however, refused to find the gun, stating that it was under possession of security guard.
“Things also modified in my room, so someone was here,” he said.
He went on to say that all he had was an AK-47 assault rifle, for for which he was licensed.
Besides weapons, mobile phone, satellite phone, his wallet, CNIC and USB sticks were also recovered from the room.
The raid was carried out out hours after the District and Sessions Court granted the police a two-day arrest of accused. it also asked law enforcement to bring him to court on 24 August.
Previously on On Tuesday, police said cell and satellite phones seized from Gill’s room would be sent to for court medical expert test.
“Process of ownership verification of pistol in progress. The case can be registered against PTI leader for not granting a license for the same”, they added.
The leader of the PTI is currently facing happening for rebellion and incitement public against state institutions.
