The police launched an investigation into the fact death of man after being shot with a firearm on Claremont Road in Manchester.
Greater Manchester Police responded to reports of shooting in early hours of Monday morning when they found male aged 18 to 25 with serious injury.
The man was taken to the hospital, but after a while he died.
In a statement shortly after 6 am on On Monday, police said crime the scene was still in place at Princess Parkway and Claremont Road in Moss side and public advised avoid in area.
Det supt Jude Holmes said “First, my thoughts with victims family and friends at this extremely difficult time in what a devastating event.
“While the investigation is ongoing and at an early stage, we are working extremely hard understand full circumstances.
“Our response included increased patrols in direct area save community safe, although of work was undertaken overnight and will continue today.
“Any details that may help us are asked to receive in touch like we know there were several of potential witnesses to this serious incident.”
