The government decided to hold a conference of donors for rehabilitation of flood-hit areas

ISLAMABAD: government on On Monday we decided to hold a conference of donors for rehabilitation of flood affected areas of country.

decision was taken in meeting of relevant officials were kept here with Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in chair to review in progress of relief and rehabilitation measures in in flood affected areas.

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman, Adviser to Prime Minister Ahad Cheema, Punjab Provincial Assembly Member Awais Leghari, Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz and related senior officials attended the meeting.

The Prime Minister stated that international institutions should get information about damage caused floods in country, as well as ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts by the federal and provincial governments.

He also urged philanthropists to generously donate in Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.

The Prime Minister ordered the immediate dispatch to flood affected areas and take action for reconstruction and rehabilitation of flood-hit areas.

Prime Minister also managed all institutions concerned to speed up process of assistance and rehabilitation in in flood affected areas on emergency base.
