The digital revolution is the last chance for Hungary, therefore the IVSZ – Association for the Digital Economy calls for social cooperation in its manifesto published at the MENTA conference. Digitization will significantly change the lives of all Hungarians, the operation of all Hungarian companies and institutions, and will fundamentally shake our daily lives in the coming years, says the organization of IT and digitizing companies.
Although digitalisation has become an integral part of our everyday lives, Hungary lags behind other countries in many areas. Primarily, digital competencies are lacking, but both the economic and public sectors proved to be slow in introducing and applying effective solutions. The competitiveness of the national economy and domestic enterprises, the performance of the country and the living standards of the population all depend on whether the inevitable digitalisation can be turned to our advantage in the coming years.
In order to draw attention the importance of exploiting digitalisation, the IVSZ – Alliance for the Digital Economy in its manifesto issued at the MENTA conference all actors in the economic sector and the Hungarian digital ecosystem – in addition to its own member companies – Hungarian small, medium and large companies, students, teachers, employees, politicians –
To put this into practice, the organization is launching a voluntary coalition, the Co-operation Digital Hungary initiative. In this context, the participants prepare an action plan under the coordination of the IVSZ and present it to the decision-makers in the form of policy and development policy proposals.

The participants of the MENTA conference to be held in Sárvár on 23 and 24 September this year are looking for the answer to the changes that took place in the digital economy during the pandemic. After all, the past good year has shown that digitization and technology have become stronger than ever, and the markets and industries based on them can go a way they may have never done in recent years. However, the expected resurgence and strengthening of market processes and the digital economy itself do not matter in which direction, force and decisions it develops, therefore the actors and speakers of MENTA provide guidance and assistance in this.
The conference his first block on Thursday morning researched and showed the factors, leadership paths, that are essential to the “Recoded Business.” The speakers sought answers from a micro- and macroeconomic approach, among others Tamás Tápai, 4iG’s Deputy CEO for IT, and Zoltán Pogátsa, an economist who spoke about the importance and possible effects of digital central bank money. In the afternoon block, György Tilesch, MI expert, co-author of the book Crafts and Intelligence, Gergely Szertics, MI expert, and Máté Tóth, content producer of IVSZ, will discuss the issue of responsibility related to the corporate application of artificial intelligence.
At the conference, which runs until Friday, the speakers will focus on the relationship between the various segments of the economy and society in relation to digitalisation. In addition to his digital experience as a World Cup-winning car racer, Norbert Michelisz talks about how the successes and occasional failures that surround his career help and motivate him in business. The focus of MENTA will be on how labor market issues affect the opportunities for digital development of companies, especially SMEs. There will also be talk of reintegrating senior workers into the ICT sector and ways to increase the proportion of female workers. According to the IVSZ digital transformation is not just an economic issue, as it has a societal significance: it can reduce or increase inequalities of opportunity, contribute to sustainability and strengthen resilience. The integration of digital technologies is vital for economic actors, but the effective introduction of technologies will significantly improve the quality of life of Hungarian citizens by transforming the health, education and social spheres.
