The court recommended to close the case on alcohol “Buzdar” – Newspaper

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday told the Lahore High Court that its regional general assembly (RGM) recommended closing of investigation of alleged misuse of power and corruption in in award of hotel alcohol license against former main minister Usman Buzdar and others.

A liquor license has been issued by the Punjab Department of Excise and Taxation to a newly built hotel located near Lahore Airport.

Presented report in M/s Unicorn Prestige Ltd petition pending before division bench stated that the RGM had sent its recommendations to the chairman of the NAB for closing of request.

Lawyer Ijaz Avan, counsel for the petitioner argued that the case should have been resolved as soon as possible even before the recent amendments to the NAB ruling that made the case out of jurisdiction of in bureau.

He said that one bench of LHC had already said that award of hotel license was valid.

bench led by Judge Ali Bakar Najafi ordered of application filed by the company operating Hotel in light of NAB closure statement of investigation.

In this case, Buzdar was given pre-arrest bail bail accountability court.

Bazdar via counsel imagined that there was not an iota of proof on record suggest that petitioner received any illegal material benefit of benefit in in any way whatsoever. He said no offense made out against in petitioner for want of arrest in accordance with any provision of NAO 1999.
