There are indications that Tesla intends to replace the current lithium-ion batteries with the new blade batteries produced by BYD
The sector of production and supply of batteries for electric vehicles is in the process of red, at a time when manufacturers are looking for the best solutions to equip their models. Low cost, quality, reliability, safety and speed of charging are attributes that all car manufacturers want, when the demand for battery-powered vehicles grows exponentially around the world.
Information revealed by BatteryBits realize that Tesla, still the largest manufacturer of electric cars in the world, will mount in its models batteries supplied by BYD, curiously its biggest competitor in the Chinese market.

Rumors revealed by BB indicate that the American brand intends to replace the lithium-ion batteries supplied by the also Chinese company CATL, which currently equip its vehicles, with batteries ” blade” or single-cell, composed of lithium iron phosphate, as they are safer.
Moreover, the price of single-cell batteries produced p BYD is considerably lower compared to the market average for lithium-ion batteries, so if the supply to Tesla is confirmed, probably by the second quarter of next year, it will be expected that the American manufacturer’s models will decrease in price. Apparently, with this change in the supply of batteries, Tesla will achieve a reduction in production costs of around 15%.
