Introduction

Late Tuesday evening, the Syrian President announced a 100% increase in the salaries, salaries and pensions of all civil servants and pensioners, both civilian and military.

President’s Statement

The Syrian President said in a statement: “President Bashar al-Assad has issued Legislative Decree No. 11 of 2023, which provides for the addition of 100% to the fixed salaries and wages in force as of the date of this Legislative Decree, for all workers in the state, both civilian and and the military.\”

Pension Increase for Military and Civilian Pensioners

The statement added that another decree would grant military and civilian pensioners subject to current insurance, pension and social insurance laws a 100% pension increase, the Arab World News Agency reported.

Date of Implementation

The statement states that both decrees will be put into effect from the first day of the month following the day of their issuance.
