UPDATE: Goodhue County Sheriff office confirmed that the suspect in in custody and no more cause for concern for in the community public safety.
According to the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook:
“After several hours of negotiations between law enforcement and the person, law enforcement found it appropriate to take the person into custody despite clear give up terms. After receiving a warrant from a judge in Olmsted County, SWAT teams deployed locally less lethal rounds. The man is back fire as well as hit law enforcement vehicles but fortunately no on was hit with any return fire.”
Incident took place within jurisdiction of Olmsted County and all charges will be filed by the Olmsted County Attorney’s Office.

GOODHUE COUNTY, Minnesota – Orphanage in Place warning issued for Goodhue County due to “cop event.”
Goodhue Sheriff’s Office says they got a welfare check call this morning for resident living in Spry Qt. SE. sheriff office says negotiation team was in contact with a person for hours and he’s alone inside home.
Negotiation team trying to get an item out of in house and to the hospital for help.

In a Facebook post, the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office said, “There has been an incident involving law enforcement. in SE Pine Island. Law enforcement agencies are questioning citizens in what area stay clear. Additional details will be posted when available. A recent CodRED post goes beyond that area. If you not in Pine Island in the southeast area can be ignored.”
