Strict control of Procession of Ashura under way

PESHAWAR:

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Secretary Dr. Shahzad Bangash ordered rigorous monitoring of Muharram processions throughout the province.

He visited the installed control room in Department of Home and Tribal Affairs review security measures for 9 and 10 of Muharram on Monday.

Home Minister Khushal Khan on informed the head of this secretary and said that all majlises and processions are effectively controlled in 14 districts of province, and so far no unpleasant incidents have occurred place anywhere.

home secretary further said that special software were launched to observe the processions and medjali, access of which was handed over to the head of the ministersecretariat, the head secretary office and district administrations. In addition, article 144 also have been introduced in all sensitive areas.

Khushal Khan explained that there is excellent coordination between all stakeholders and all security agencies on high willingness to deal with any bad incident.

Main secretary Dr. Shahzad Bangash expressed his satisfaction over arrangements and commendable efforts of home department to this effect.

Main secretary ordered the authorities to closely monitor on situation and ensure that Muharram ends peacefully.

Meanwhile, the district emergency service 1122 made comprehensive measures to provide prompt services and effective solutions with emergencies on 9th and 10th of Muharram.

This was reported by a representative of the rescue service 1122. special motorcycle medical and fire-struggle teams were deployed in various places in area to provide emergency medical care people.

He said the motorcycle ambulance service has further expanded operational capabilities. of emergency services and teams equipped with medical kits and fire extinguishing agents proved to be very effective, especially in congested areas.
