Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman confirmed that the Kingdom’s interest in cooperation with Arab countries in the field of energy is an integral part of its interest in strengthening its relations in the Arab depths in all areas.

At the international level, the Minister of Energy confirmed the existence of coordination between the Kingdom with countries (OPEC Plus), which are countries that include oil producers from OPEC and outside, including a number of Arab countries, and this is considered the cornerstone of efforts to improve the stability of world oil markets and maintaining their balance, as well as the security of supply, in such a way as to support the growth potential of the global economy.

He explained that the Kingdom has signed a number of memorandums of understanding with a number of Arab countries in the energy sector, such as Egypt, the Sultanate of Oman, Jordan and Iraq, aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of electricity, renewable energy. energy, pure hydrogen, oil and gas, petrochemistry and other related fields with energy.

He noted that there are also electrical interconnection projects between Saudi Arabia and the Arab countries, since the Kingdom is connected to all the Arab states of the Persian Gulf through the Persian Gulf connection, and direct interconnection projects are being implemented between the Kingdom and Iraq, Jordan and Egypt. .

He noted that these projects are aimed at improving the security of interconnected national networks, their reliability, increasing their ability to absorb the input of renewable energy projects, creating a regional commercial market for the exchange and transmission of electricity to achieve optimal investment and operation of national generating stations, export renewable energy and link networks Arabic Mashriq with their counterparts in the Maghreb.

The Minister of Energy confirmed that “coordination and cooperation with the brotherly Arab countries testify to constant communication, whether through coordinating councils or joint committees in various fields of energy and related issues, such as the exchange of experience in the field of electricity, renewable energy, efficient energy. production and consumption, digital transformation in energy use”. And its applications, as well as programs and plans to combat climate change, which include the application of a circular carbon economy approach, emission reduction technologies and others.

Finally, he expressed the hope that the Arab Summit held in Jeddah will be a new opportunity to achieve a greater and more effective start of cooperation, integration and coordination among Arab countries in all fields.
