PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami staged protests and held public meetings in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday against inflation and record increase in prices of oil products.

They said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa produced the most of electricity while faced longest duration of power load shedding in country.
CO workers also held a protest in Chakdara.
JI held a protest in Bajaur in Har Bazaar visited scores of workers, merchants and residents of in area.

The protesters were approached by JI local branch head Sardar Khan, deputy head Qari Abdul Majid, Maulana Wahid Gul, Haji Sahibur Rahman, Farmanullah and others.
They called the recent increase in prices of fuel unreasonable and said that people we already hit hard on record inflation. They said that the recent increase in fuel prices were an issue of serious concern for the whole nation. They called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to immediately reconsider decision.
Protesters gather in Swabi in county office of JI and moved to Karnal Sher Khan Chowk.
They kept banners and chant slogans against in government for price increase of gasoline and diesel.
Addressing the protesters, JI former District Emir Mahmudul Hassan said that government dropped petrol and diesel bombs on in people, who we already crushed by skyrocketing prices of essential goods.
He said that the real government claimed to control inflation before coming to power but raised prices of gasoline and diesel, forcing the oppressed commit suicide.
JI workers gathered in Bannu outside press club and closed the city road to vehicular traffic.
